Going into the Psychology of Learning class, I was excited to work with animals, as it would be a new experience for me. I didn't have many first impressions with rats beforehand, but I had no negative feelings towards them. Honestly, I was mostly indifferent, having never handled one or worked with one until now. I knew they were typically seen as dirty and that many people have a less than positive view of them. However, learning about research that has been conducted using rats, I knew they were smart and could be trained fairly easily. After the first learning lab where we were able to meet our rats, my opinion mostly changed by way of being more excited. My rat seemed sweet, and she was so cute, which only encouraged me to begin working with her. Luckily, both my partner and I were able to hold our rat, though she did attempt to escape at one point by leaping out of Zuri's hands. Thankfully, she was quickly caught and calmed down, allowing us to hold her. Immediately, Zuri
